CAP & GOWN SESSION
Senior photos are just not complete until you have a Cap and Gown session. This seems like a no brainer, but to some, it may feel optional or unimportant as the year is coming to a close and you are ready to get to the ceremony. I can tell you with 100% certainty, you should absolutely have one! If you book a senior experience with me, you have 2 collections that include your Cap and Gown Session.
what should I wear at my Cap & Gown Session
I talk with my seniors before the shoot about their clothing choices (just like in a regular senior session). We choose clothing that will coordinate with your graduation gown and the location.
SHORT DRESSES always look super cute under your gown and give a fun summer-y feel!
* Make sure not to wear any tops that are puffy or that would make the shape of your gown look a little weird!
COLOR-COORDINATE WITH YOUR CAP + GOWN
Your cap and gown will probably be some version of your school colors, so make sure your outfits don’t clash with that color! I know grad caps aren’t the cutest, but seriously, y’all can always pull them off + make them so cute no matter what color they are!
COLLEGE SHIRTS/DAD HATS TO SHOW WHAT’S NEXT
I LOVE when grads wear college shirts or college dad hats to show what’s next on their journey!!
Can I bring friends to my cap & gown session
There is nothing more important to both high school and college graduates as their friendships. Including friends in several images will make the graduation photos unforgettable. Note, if we are completely booked, friend shoots will have to be booked on separate dates and fee will be applied.
What should I bring to my cap & gown session
Bring on the confetti!
I love the classic blowing of the confetti for Cap and Gown sessions.
It adds a pop of color and always feels very festive and celebratory.
I love to highlight the tassel and the year of graduation in your school colors. Other ideas for accessories include your Letterman jacket and college gear – a banner is a great idea or school shirt.
No matter what you bring to the Cap and Gown session it will definitely be a celebration of a successful high school career!

Do you take college grad photos ?
IF YOU’RE GRADUATING COLLEGE, BRING SOME BUBBLY (OR SOMETHIN’ A LITTLE HARDER, NO JUDGMENT HERE)
If you wanna have a blast at your college grad session, bring along your fave drink (alcoholic or not)!! Whether that’s a bottle of champagne, some tequila shots (my personal fav), or sparkling cider to shake + spray everywhere, let’s partyyyyy!
Can I bring Props to my cap and gown session?
INCLUDE ANY PROPS THAT ARE MEANINGFUL TO YOU + YOUR SCHOOL JOURNEY
You can bring along any props that would make your photos more meaningful!! Maybe that means your dog, the instrument you play, a uniform, a stethoscope, anything to represent your school journey or the future ahead.

- GRAD SIGNING BOARD: these are one of our client’s favorite products for their grad parties! It’s a great way to commemorate your loved ones’ well wishes for your future while showcasing your fave senior pics from your AHP session!
- K THROUGH 12 WALK OF FAME: why not line your front walkway with 12 yard signs... ones with each year’s student photo starting with kindergarten all the way through your senior picture?! When all of your grad party guests arrive, they can walk through the memories with you!
- BALLOON EMBELLISHMENTS: print out several wallets or mini-snapshots from your senior pics and use double sided tape to stick them to the ribbons of helium balloons.🎈Whether you float them through the house or tie them down, your guests will be looking through your fave senior pics all night long.
